Re Belkin Range Extender N-300

Specs: Windows 7
Following power cut, extender lost connection. After fruitless attempt to reconnect using WPS and a Reset, the WPS button does NOT trigger the "link" light, and my router (TalkTalk D-Link DSL-3782) naturally does not establish a connection.

Having failed to reestablish a connection at its usual distance (abt 5m from router) I have relocated it to within 30cm, to no avail.

Thanks to riider, btk1w1 and Joolz2015 who all sent helpful comments, but I tried to implement the lot to no avail. You seem familiar with Belkin's slovenly direction to non-existent sites etc.
I had hoped that using WPS both on the extender and my (TalkTalk/D-Link DSL-3782) would provide a solution, but evidently the WPS button on my router is a dud. I'll ask for a replacement.
