To display a pc screen on a tv that does not accept a form of computer display output. Most modern tv's accept several types of input, Most common converters converted VGA to composite video to display pc screen images on larger tv sets.

The tv should have two vga connectors - one front and one rear. All you need is a vga cable.

If laptop you may have to enable the VGA port. On the TV choose the correct input mode. You may have to adjust the resolution.

and it is good to also connect the audio via the headphone jack, to the audio In on the TV.

For $35 I got a VGA to VGA with an attached audio connector connected to the VGA wire. They are 10 or 12 feet long (I forget).

My TV does not have the correct audio connector but my home theater system does so I connect the VGA to TV and audio to home theater from the laptop.
