Solved Need WiFi in metal building

Specs: Macintosh
We have a ZyXEL wireless router. The router reaches out to our metal building that is maybe 200 ft away. The WiFi reaches to the one side closest to the router but doesn't cover the whole barn. I think the metal is messing with the WiFi connection? How do I get WiFi to the whole barn? Keep in mind we can't do a hard line.

The barn is acting as a Faraday Cage. If it has a power supply in common with your house the best soution may be a powerline wireless repeater such as:

I am using a cheap PowerLine type device and it has been good - better than Wifi.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

I suggested a PowerLine repeater rather than a pure wireless repeater because of the difficulty of getting a signal into the building (hence the Faraday Cage remark). With a pure wireless repeater you would really need one aerial inside the building and one outside.

Any chance you figured this out OP? Similar issue although honestly the barn is pretty shoddy I didn't think it would cause much issues. Was looking at a guide on wireless repeaters and boosting the signal outdoors and it said to look at obstruction and mentioned external directional antennas so I thought about trying to mount something on the roof maybe?

That or a trial of repeaters but then I have to sort the power cords out somehow.
