Solved how to convert my wirelss subwoofer to wired

March 14, 2018 at 06:45:04
Specs: Android
I have a vizio subwoofer which self powered and has a input inn the back for 2 satellites. My sound bar broke which I converted into a center channel by removing all the speakers, linking them and reboxing.I'd like to salvage the subwoofer but it has no inputs or outputs to go to my reciever which is use as my second sub...Any tips on how to connect an RC A input to the power supply or would in go to the other board which on the inside of the sub is the board that the power supply and sub along with the satellite inputs are found...I need to circumvent the wireless system actually the sub is designed to sync with the sound bar which is non existent..please help

DO NOT connect an RCA jack to your power supply unless you like watching electronics go up in smoke.

You will need to get a schematic for the subwoofer and figure out where the wireless receiver sends an analog audio signal to the preamp stage of the amplification board.

Yeah, this question has come up before several times, there is no simple answer.

Unless you are good with a soldering iron and can read electronic schematics, I would leave it alone.

I would start by going to Visio's website and see if they have an email address. Email them and see if they can offer you a schematic.

I wouldn't hold my breath though, usually they won't offer repair help to anyone other than a certified technician. Showing a layperson how to work on an electronic circuit is just asking for a lawsuit if that person electrocuted themselves or burned up a circuit board because they didn't know what they were doing.

Also your going to want a decent soldering station. Not one of those $10 crappy wood burning tools that radio shack passed off as a soldering iron but a real soldering station with a grounded tip and heat regulation. Your looking at approx. $70 minimum just for that.

Honestly I would cut your losses and just go buy a new one.
