Specs: Windows 7
I have this software on my HP 630 Laptop using Windows 7 and I cannot find information on how to record from a device with a MIDI output

The HP software may not be able to do what you want it to do but here's some info on midi recording:

MIDI Output? MIDI is a digital output for triggering notes/signals to play on synthesizers, drum machines, lighting controllers, etc, it contains no audio data. Did you mean HDMI?

If so, you can't, the HDMI port on laptops are output only not input.

I wish to record from an organ which has a MIDI output. HDMI does not come into the story at all.

Ok again, MIDI has no audio in it, it is a digital pulse that is for triggering notes/signals to play on synthesizers, drum machines, lighting controllers, etc.

You need to use the audio out jacks on the organ if you want to record sound.
