FoxTab Audio converter - how to remove?

December 25, 2010 at 09:11:17
Specs: Windows Vista
I just downloaded the FoxTab Audio Converter. (It does not convert mp4 to mp3 so beware). It does not do what I thought it would do so now I want to remove it from my program list but it does not show up on the program files list...unless it is named something other than "FoxTab Audio Converter." If anyone knows how to remove this program please email me at: sambking (at) comcast (dot) net. Thanks!

FoxTab makes horrendous applications that do not appear in the uninstall list (at least on windows Vista). Others have suggested Revo's uninstall application, but FoxTab does not appear on that list either.

What was my solution for getting rid of this atrocious and intrusive product? Luckily, I had realized quickly that it needed to go and so I was able to SYSTEM RESTORE to earlier in the week. Thankfully, at least in my case, the system restore worked. So, that's my suggestion. Hope it works for you!

Uninstallers and registry cleaners won't work. The easiest and quickest way is to use regedit. Start>Run and type "Regedit" (no quotations) hit Ok

In the Registry use Edit>Find then search for the word foxtab. Delete all instances of foxtab in the registry. You will need to keep selecting Find next to search all of the registry.

I found an entry in the registry. It says to use the command uninstall.exe /uninstall.
I opened a command window with run as admin, changed to the directory that holds uninstall file and ran the command. It completely removed the program.

Hope this helps!

I managed to get rid of it using a program I have called 'Perfect Uninstaller'. Although FoxTab did not show up on the list of programs there, I was able to right-click on the prgram file and then click 'force uninstall'. It worked perfectly! :-)

That's a long way to ask a question.
