If the source is not multi-channel you will only get stereo.

The test activates all channels. Try finding a compatible surround source. Maybe a movie clip.

I had the same problem in windows 7 64bit with my logitech z-5300 speakerset. I downloaded all the proper sounddrivers for my motherboard and still had stereo sound. In some cases you have to check the switch in the back of your subwoofer. Mine was set to the 5.1 option and I got stereo sound. When i changed it to 2.1 I got sound coming from all the boxes!!! I was happy and pissed off at the same time, realy a strange feeling :p
