My co-ax cable is about 22 years old.I plan on dropping direct TV and use my antenna.How can I check this cable to see if it is o.k.The cable runs down the roof and under the house.thanks Jim b.
22 years is a long time. The cable has deteriorated from ion migration and moisture absorption. Sweep testing is the proper way of testing. I would just run a new cable. I just bought 500 ft RG-6 Quad Shield for about $50. A Note: All broadcasts are now digital. Your receiver has to have a new style tuner.
