I have a Cd Rw with rare tracks from the artist Cosmo that he gave me myself in a live act of his... I would like to copy the files (tracks) from the CD to my computer, but I can't because every time I open it it opens with the Vlc Player and it can't be copied, I don't know why... neither in Windows Media Player
What format are the files? If they're standard CD Audio (.cda) files, they can't be copied to a hard drive; they must be "ripped" to some other format: http://www.techsupportalert.com/how...

Yep, think of .cda files as shortcuts to the tracks rather than the tracks themselves. Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks
Although ripping is the best way forward, if all else fails you could re-record each track as new sound files using computer recorder software. There are some freebies around if you Google. I use this old thing on my XP and it's neat and easy:
