What is a sand disk?

Do you mean Sandisk which is the name of a manufacture of various USB flash drives.

Is it a USB device?

If it is you need a USB socket to plug it into. There is no way I know of converting USB to 3.5 mm audio.

If it's a sandisk mp3 player and the 3.5 jack is an audio input then it should work. You may need to get a patch cord to make the connection.

If it's just a flash drive then yeah, you'll need a USB port to connect it to.
