Replacing part of a hyperlink

March 17, 2009 at 15:50:03
Specs: Windows Vista
I am setting up a database of invoices to pass on to a colleague at work.

I am looking for a formula in Excel 2003 that will replace part of a set, repeating hyperlink in one column with a corresponding 5 digit number.

eg. www.blah.com/invoices/13579

I'd like to write in the cell 13579 and have it create the above link automatically.

the cell should ideally still read 13579 but be a link to the longer URL

this will happen for an entire column

is this possible? how should I do it?
