I'm assuming your using Excel?

Try this:

If Cell A1 contains Month08

In Cell B1 to get Month enter the formula: =LEFT(A1,5)
In Cell C1 to get 08 enter the formula: =RIGHT(A1,2)

If Cell A1 contains Month08year09

In Cell B1 to get Month enter the formula: =LEFT(A1,5)
In Cell C1 to get 08 enter the formula: =MID(A1,6,2)

Also you Excel questions will get a better response if you post them in the Office Software forum.
