Having trouble finding a CPU support list, but I did find this:

Manufacturer: Acer
Part Number: MB.SCM01.002 MBSCM01002
Compatible Part Numbers: MB DA061/087L 08120-3M 48.3V006.03M

If your computer had a standard retail motherboard it would be fairly easy to find out what processors it supports as that info is published by the motherboard manufacturer.

However, your factory-built emachines PC will almost certainly be fitted with a motherboard that was custom-made for the computer manufacturer, and processor upgrade information for such boards is rarely published.

I've "googled" your computer model and spent a good 20 minutes looking for CPU upgrade information to no avail. If you open the case and get the actual motherboard make and model, you may have more success if you "google" that.

More than likely it's one of these boards:

So you'd need to find a socket AM2 X2 processor (up to 5600+) that's rated at 89W or less.

Upgrading to Ultimate should present no problems if you are already running Windows 7 on that PC without driver problems. The only difference where drivers are concerned is if you upgrade from 32-bit Win7 to 64-bit Win7 .
