Which is the better computer for everyday computing needs? I will probably be playing WoW though.
Windows 7 Professional 64-bit
• Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-740QM Quad Core processor (1.73GHz, 6MB L3 Cache) w/Turbo Boost up to 2.93 GHz
• 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon(TM) HD 5650 graphics
• 8GB DDR3 System Memory (2 Dimm)
• 1TB 5200RPM Hard Drive

All the same except CPU changed to
Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-580M Dual Core Processor (2.66GHz, 3MB L3 Cache) with Turbo Boost up to 3.33GHz

From what I am reading about Wow it does not really use 4 cores and neither will most everyday computing. Unless you plan on running multiple applications, doing video editing, Cad, Photoshop, etc, you may find that the dual core will be slightly faster. If there is any real chance you will running apps or games that take advantage of the quad cores in the next 5 or more years, the quad will be more future proof. Still your choice.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
