Please do not be stingy with your words and explain more clearly.
If you changed out the CMOS battery and are having issues like t does not keep the time, date, etc. when unplugged then either the batteries are bad (old), installed upside down, or the battery's socket may be bent or badly tarnished.
If your issue was not related to the BIOS settings changing when power was removed then most likely your problem was not the CMOS battery but something else.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

✔ Best Answer
The CMOS chip on the motherboard holds the BIOS settings. The CMOS battery keeps the BIOS settings in memory when the computer is shutdown or unplugged. If a CMOS battery goes bad, the CMOS memory clears & the BIOS will reset to its defaults. If a CMOS battery is removed, the BIOS will also reset to its defaults. If you changed the battery, the next step is to enter the BIOS menu & correct the time, date, & other settings. If they're set incorrectly, the system will perform poorly & may not even boot up.
