Specs: Windows XP
Just installed a new cpu ( upgraded from duo to quad core) and on my first boot it stayed stuck on the bios screen. I planned on just re-formatting right away, so I didnt expect any problems, but bios wont even read the windows cd in the drive, so I assume there's something I don't know that I need to know. Can anybody help me out ?

There's no need to reformat because of a CPU change.

Did you verify that your motherboard supports a quad? Did you check to see if a BIOS update was necessary?
