Solved Upgrade in CPU = Higher Max Ram Speed increased?

July 25, 2012 at 03:06:55
Specs: Windows 7
I have a HP Pavilion Elite H8-1200Z which has a motherboard
•Manufacturer: Gigabyte M3970AM-HP
•HP: Angelica
Well it only supports RAM speeds up to 1333 (DDR3 PC3-10600)

And i saw that if i upgrade to AMD FX-8150 it would increase the max speed to 1866? is that correct?

Upgrading to a AMD FX-8150 .... In that processor it says IT SUPPORTS 1866..
But in the Specs of my computer website it says only 1333 currently on AMD FX-6100

Yes the maximum RAM speed will be 1866MHz.
Which means you can get DDR3 1866 MHz RAM.

I am a hardware guy not a software guy but i try to help.

"it only supports RAM speeds up to 1333 (DDR3 PC3-10600)"

The motherboard specs say PC3 12800 (DDR3-1600). But the RAM speed would only increase if you have DDR3-1600 RAM. If you currently have DDR3-1333, it won't run at 1600 or 1866MHz, it would have to be replaced.
