The processor isn't the problem, it's the graphics. Stick to 720p movies & use VLC Player.

I doubt you will be able to upgrade the processor on a laptop. Very unlikely.

A CPU upgrade is usually not cost effective on a laptop. Even finding a compatible upgrade CPU can be difficult and the manufacturers are usually not very helpful. Many laptop CPUs are not socket mounted but soldered directly to the motherboard. Replacement of such a CPU requires special equipment and considerable skill.

It's generally not cost effective to upgrade the CPU in a laptop, plus I doubt the CPUs you listed would make any noticeable performance difference. Not to mention your laptop is 7-8 years old. If you want better performance, it's time to consider a replacement.

Thanks for your answer.
It's exactly laptop from mostbg bought 7 years ago and it's a rock solid machine. Have bought for my wife new asus F series with i3, 4gb ram... and im totaly not impressed with the quality.
As i'm curently using the laptop for browsing, movies and mp3 and it is fine, but for some 1080p movies theere is a lag due to the processor, so I thought replacing it with T5850, 2.2Ghz instead of 2.0Ghz on my current and 2MB L2 instead of 1MB could bring about 10% more performence. For the price of 10-11$ T5850 is not such expensive upgrade.
I can upgrade to T7500, but i think that would not work because the motherboard is on 667 FSB and the 7500 is on 800?

I have cleaned my laptop, replaced the termal compound with Arctic Mx4, removed and put back the processos, so it is not soldered and can be reaplaced.
The question is which is the most powerful processor that will work?
