Motherboard wont recognize CPU. MSI MS-6728 Neo2 and Intel Pentium 4 Northwood 3.4Ghz. Basically I'm swapping 2.4Ghz which I've used for ages :) with 3.4Ghz of the same cpu version. After installing new CPU system will not go thru the bootup. Monitor stays off while the all fans inside of the computer case are running. This gives me a clue that CPU is not supported, but I checked with manufacturer and it shows to be supported. Any ideas?
Your CPU support list appears to list it: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/865PE... Your BIOS update list basically says you need version 3.5 or higher: http://www.msi.com/product/mb/865PE... If you want to run this CPU then put back in the old one and update your BIOS to the latest one. If you are have not done this before, please read up on the dangers and precautions involved in BIOS updates.
