Replaced my CPU and it won't boot

Specs: Windows Vista
I replaced my CPU today and now my computer wont boot. I see a solid red HD light.

What the deal? Incompatible CPU?

Original CPU: P4 HT 3.4ghz
New CPU: Pentium D 3.4ghz
