Processor Upgrade Inspiron 531

Specs: Windows Vista, AMD Sempron(tm) Processor LE-1250 / 2gb RAM
Hello. I have a Dell Inspiron 531. I would love to replace its processor. I have a AMD Sempron(tm) Processor LE-1250 , I am afraid that I can't upgrade to anything better because of CDh (Socket 939). From what I have a googled it seems they have stopped making processors for my motherboard... Is this true? If not what is the best one I could buy?

I have Aida32 to get this information, although it doesn't state the name of my motherboard which worries me. I tried to overclock my cpu but in the bios there isn't much to change and motherboard monitor doesn't support dell.
Aida32 shows
Motherboard ID 02/09/2009-1.0.13

Thanks

The LE-1250 is a socket AM2 processor, not 939.

The original Phenom X4 processors would work on certain AM2 motherboards, but based on the information I found on Dell's support site, your board only accepts K8-based CPUs. The fastest K8 processor is the Athlon 64 X2 6400+. However, that's a 125w CPU, and a Dell board might panic and/or melt if you attempt to run such a power hungry processor. Instead, go for the 89w version of the X2 6000+. It has two cores, both of which run at 3.1GHz, and a total of 1MB of L2 cache. That would be a huge step up from your Sempron.

That's the older 125w version of the 6000+. You want the 89w "Brisbane" core 6000+, which runs at 3.1GHz.
