Specs: Windows 10, 6gb. 1.0 TB
My pc boots up and you can hear it running. The power light on pc does not go on. Light on monitor is blinking and screen is blank except for a box in the top left that is black and white, that says analogue. It was all working just fine last night

Try this trick which has been known to help at odd times:

Turn off computer and disconnect from domestic power. Seems like it is not a laptop but if it is then remove the main battery too. Finally hold the Power Off/On button for at least 20 seconds to discharge the motherboard components. You might just be lucky.

Otherwise there are many possibilities, the Power Supply Unit being high on the list.

Always pop back and let us know the outcome - thanks

Thank you for getting back. I tried your suggestion but it hasn't worked. Same issue. Power cord is new as I needed a longer one. Anything other suggestions?

✔ Best Answer
As I said in #1 PSU is high on the list, particularly as there is no power light. However it would be best to try another monitor (or yours on another computer) just to make absolutely sure it is not at fault.

Err...as you said PC I assumed it wasn't a laptop. Best to let us have the computer make and model number.

See the small picture here showing the indicator light and items 1. 2 and 3 below it:

Does this give any clue? I'm still suspecting the Power Supply Unit but can't be absolutely certain.

Check out the monitor as given, just to be on the safe side.

"My pc boots up and you can hear it running"

What do you hear running - fans? That doesn't mean the PC has booted up. Do you hear any beeps?
