"CM 450 watt psu"

You have this thing up and running or you just shopping?

What made you choose that psu to run a HD5770? it won't do the job.

Edit:

I should ask what you mean by CM...CoolerMaster, Corsair Memory, CoolMax?

Not necessarily...read the label on the psu and let us know the amps on the 12v rail. You can also include the 3.3 and 5 volt rails.

Only CoolerMaster 450w psu I can remember (and I'm probably wrong here) had only 12 amps on the +12v rail.

for 3.3 V and 5 V, it shows 20A and for the +12V1 and +12V2, it
shows 18A..is it this what i have to look for?

Yeah, that psu should work just fine. Sorry to waste time but I had to ask.

Here's some reading for you...
