|Is your computer POST'ing normally? Do you hear any error beep codes? It sounds to me like this may a be an issue with your bios (or worse south-bridge), due to the general i/o problems. Keyboard, mouse, and low level video are all tied through the south-bridge, and bios. |
First I would try resetting (flashing) the CMOS look for the 3pin by the CMOS chip and switch the jumper for 15 seconds. (consult your motherboard manual if you have any question). Switch the jumper back and turn your computer on.
If that doesn't work you're BIOS is probably fine, so lets try break your problem down to the symptoms. If you can, try a borrowing a buddy's graphics card and monitor to eliminate any possibility of a vga issue.
For the keyboard try a usb keyboard if you're using a ps/2 or try a ps/2 if you're using a usb keyboard, this will help verify the integrity of your CMOS and South-bridge.
If it's still not working, and you get no error beeps I would guess it is the motherboard that is faulty and you're going to have to try a replacement.
Hope this helped, and good luck :)
