Specs: Windows Vista, 533 MHz
I have a Gateway GM5688e with a RS780M03Gi motherboard and a AMD Phenom X3 8400 Processor. Is there a site to help me find a suitable replacement for both to give me better performance?

Better performance for what? Gaming? Do you have a video card installed or still using motherboard video?

There's not much wrong with your processor.

How much RAM do you have? And what is 533 MHz all about?

✔ Best Answer
533Mhz memory controller?

Edit: I'd be inclined to just fill it up with 8Gb memory and toss in a HD 7750, then call it a day.

I do a lot of school that and use a lot of virtual applications and I always keep other things open to help me study and test.
Last year I did install a video card but I have to check to see which one. I have 4gm of memory right now. I will install more to see how that goes.
Thanks...

OK. I don't see 4Gb of memory as much of a problem either. If you're not gaming, then I also doubt if spending a hundred bucks on another video card as the solution.

Is your machine virus free? How many processes running after booting into Vista?

Yes it is Virus free. I have about 4-6 processes once in Vista.

You must have more processes than that running. SkipCox was not asking about programs.

depress Ctrl+Alt+del at the same time and then click Start Task Manager then on the process tab. That will tell you how many are running.
