Specs: Windows 7
hi can someone help me please !!!...
I have a presario cq61 320 sv and my specs are:
AMD Sempron(tm) M100 2.00 GHz, 3.00 GB (2.75 usable) 64-bit operating System Win. 7 Ultimate and with a AMD M880G with Ati Mobility radeon Hd 4200. I dont know the motherboard model and the weird thing is that my laptop model is not registed on the list of the official amd website. But my problem is that i cant upgrade my laptop processor. Someone showed me the list of processors that my laptop support and i decidet to upgade my processor with a turion X2 ultra dual core M640 that wasn't on the list but they told me is ok. When i found someone who was ready to help i decydet to do it but my laptop didn't recognized the processor (or at least that was what that gay told me) for a reason i don't know. Than he told me that my laptop cant take any processor because the board is not original. I don't know why but i have a feelling that that gay lied me for some reason and that's why i need help. Can any one ashure me that he was right ???
(sorry for my bad english)

✔ Best Answer
my laptop model is not registed on the list of the official amd website
Why are u looking at AMD website? Look at HP website
Compaq Presario CQ61-300 Notebook PC series
http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsuppor...
As u can see compaq presario cq61 320 sv doesn't exist, post the correct model number.
CPU support list from manufacture website is everything, do not upgrade the CPU u don't see in the list.

thanks but i was thinking why the computer technician i send the laptop sad to me that my laptop has a false board? And in fact he tryed to install x2 Ultra dual-core m640 but with no results. Than he tryed to restart the board but when he did this (at least that was what he sad to me) the original processor of my laptop was magnetizes and thats why it went out of use. Then he used my money to by a new Sempron tm(100) 2.00 GHz and i never saw again my old processor. So my question is: My board is really fake like that b---tard told to me or my laptop is fine and he sad all of this just to take my money ???...

According to the Hp site, research on S1G3 socket and your MB. Your board can take an Athlon II or Turion ll Ultra only up to dual core,(are no triple or quad core S1G3 CPUs) the best one is the M660 dual core 2.7ghz. It's rare or overly expensive from Asia. I would use the M600, 620 or 640. You can find a 600(2.4ghz) pulled from another board for less than $40, up to $80 for the 640(2.6ghz) The instructions for R&R are in the HP manual for the CQ61. Upgrade your bios also. Look at the 'Caspian' series of AMD mobile processors. L2 cache will go from 512k-Sempron to 2mb-Turion ll Ultra and voltage will go from 25/single core to 35 for the dual. Overheating is an issue for this CQ, but it's from the GPU, installing generic VGA drivers stops this, or a laptop cooler. StarMicronic sells these CPUs new. I have a CQ61 411WM,
