my cpu underclocking

Dell / OPTIPLEX GX620

Specs: Windows 7, 3.2Ghz/4gb ram
I have a dell optiplex gx620 and my cpu is a intel pentium 4 HT 3.2 ghz 541 and its only clocking at 2.8ghz and its killed my performance at apps so can someone tell me why my computer is doing this.

The difference between 2.8GHz & 3.2GHz would be barely noticeable. If you want it to run at full speed at all times, disable SpeedStep.

Ok l play minecraft when I have spare time and it its noticeable when I'm running a server for the game and playing it at the same time but thanks for the info and I'm going to try that and see if that helps

Quite agree all these "make my PC better software" are CRAP CRAP, you can undertake tweaking oneself and will know exactly what has been done.

I have disable SpeedStep but my processor is still running at 2.8ghz and I have a 3.2ghz so is my computer is overheating also I updated my bios before it started doing this so could the bios update done this.
