My computer is running slow and is only 1 year old.

Specs: Windows
I have been noticing lately that my pc is running very slow. My first thought was to run a bench mark test. This told me that my cpu was only performing at 17% of its capacity compared to other cpu's like it.
Would this be a hardware or software problem?

I have a I5 quad core, 3.2 ghz cpu.

Could some one help me with this problem

What make/model? What benchmark software did you use? It could be your system is loaded with spyware, adware, malware, etc.

Lets check this side of things.

Here are the first 2 steps, more steps will be needed, after I see the results of these logs.

Step 1: Run AdwCleaner
Tutorial if needed.
Close all open programs and internet browsers.
Double click on AdwCleaner.exe to run the tool.
Click Scan
In the results tabs, uncheck anything you don't want to remove.
Click on Cleaning.
Confirm each time with Ok.
Your computer will be rebooted automatically. A text file will open after the restart.
Please Copy & Paste the contents of that logfile with your next answer.
You also can find the logfile at C:\AdwCleaner [C1 or later].txt as well.

Step 2: Run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware ( MBAM ) Use Threat Scan.
After the Free trial, I choose this.
You then get this screen.
Deactivate Malwarebytes for Windows Premium Trial
At the end of a scan, you will get something like this.
After clicking on > View Report & then > Export. Click 'Copy to Clipboard'
Paste the contents of the clipboard into your reply.
