Specs: Windows 7 64bits
What are the differences between the Intel Core i7 Processor i7-2600 3.4GHz 8MB QUAD CORE and the Intel Core i5 Processor i5-2400 3.10GHz 6MB QUAD CORE? Are those differences meaningful in terms of the performance of the PC?

thanks for your reply Cobra_R. I'm not familiar with what hyperthreading means or, even more important, what it implies. I googled it and found that this "improves overall performance on threaded software"
Any clue what software and/or applications are threaded?

Would that be the only difference between the two processors?

Thanks again

No the core i7's come with 8mb of cache while the Core i5 comes with 6mb. You would have to check software vendors to see if they support Hyperthreading or not. A lot of modern games, graphic software and video editing software do support Hyperthreading.
