A lot less than my Core 2 Duo. It mainly comes down to what uses you put it to,. If it still performs well for your uses, then it is not time to replace it yet. If you need absolute maximum performance, you would do better with a 3rd generation i7 3770K.

Agreed and if u were to upgrade CPU u are going to need new board. If i were u i will skip ivy bridge and haswell.

Unfortunately, the 1366 socket had a short life & has been discontinued. Your CPU is not obsolete, but the CPU upgrade path using the 1366 board is a dead end.

That's a 6-core/12-thread processor. That thing will outperform the i7-3770 in certain workloads!

I like jackbomb's attitude, kinda cheered me up. But I was just concerned that I wasted a ton of money on a socket that had a criminally short life.
It does perform well during rendering of video, audio and CAD, so I'm happy with what I got. But again, concerned.
