Specs: Windows 7
I need to get a better cpu for my laptop since Diablo 3 is coming out soon, and I've been waiting a long time, everything else on this laptop is above system requirements except for the CPU I was looking at the AMD Phenom™ II Black Edition Quad-Core to replace my AMD A4-3305M APU with Radeon(tm) HD Graphics, is this possible? I have this : http://www.thesource.ca/estore/prod...
an HP Pavilion g6

Like that wasn't obvious, why would i settle for this laptop if i had the money otherwise. I got this because it was what i could afford. I was looking into less expensive options. Obviously i've come to the wrong place.

The CPU is based on LLlano Core, therefore if HP have a BIOS which supports ALL Llano Core CPU it is feasible to have a Quad Core:

BUT the Graphics Chip would not be up to the job:

Build a gaming desktop instead. You can do that for less than a gaming level laptop.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

"Obviously i've come to the wrong place"

You didn't come to the wrong place, you bought the wrong laptop. Laptops generally are very limited in terms of upgradability.

For gaming, you need the combination of a good CPU, good graphics chip, & enough RAM. You have more than enough RAM, the problem is the CPU/graphics. The best you could do would be an A8-3550MX with Radeon HD 6620G graphics, but there's no guarantee it would work in your laptop. Even so, the HD 6620G is roughly equivilent to the Radeon X1950 so it would just barely meet the minimum requirements for Diablo 3. It's definitely not worth the $250 or so it would cost.

BTW, the AMD Phenom™ II Black Edition Quad-Core that you mentioned in the OP is a desktop CPU, so it obviously would NOT work in a laptop.
