If you only have 1GB RAM, I'd say that's a bigger perfromance problem than the CPU. Is your Pentium 4 a laptop CPU?

Yes it the Pentium 4 is a laptop cpu. I am planning on adding a 2 gig stick to the memory also. My brother gave me the computer after he smashed his fist into the keyboard because he got a virus surfing the net in places he shouldn't have. He only gave it to me because he thought I wouldn't be able to fix it. Turns out that the hard drive and the dvd drive were the only things he damaged. I put it back together a few weeks ago and it is working just fine. I am just not real fond of the Celeron processors.
