If u want to move some of the files from drive C to D just CUT & PASTE.

If D partition is your recovery partition, copying files to it may render it unusable for a restore.

note if u move files from a partition to another make sure that partition :
1-has enough space
2-the data that will be stored will be moved again to the original partition
3-the moved to partition is not a recovery partition
other than that just cut and paste no need for geeky commands and such

I suggest you copy your files rather than move or paste. That way if something goes wrong during the data transfer, you're you'll still have the original files to fall back on.

Is D a separate drive or a partition of the same drive as C? Best to copy or clone the drive to another disk drive either external or internal before doing any formating and os reinstalling.
