I ran my simulation progrom by MATLAB R2008a. I ckech the task manager and I found that only one out of 7 cpu cores was running at 100% and the others were at about 0%.
is my problem due to my code or my cpu and its settings?

From what I could find, it seem like MATLAB only uses one core.

It is very difficult to write an application that takes full advantage of multiple cores and as a result few do. There is very little the OS can do about this. According to the article linked to above MATLAB has only limited ability to use multiple cores. Changing your code might help, but don't expect much.
