I want to upgrade the cpu socket 1150 is currently used in the computer machine how to do ?? detail: http://daitailoc.com/danh_muc_san_p...
First of all the socket has very little to do with establishing if you can overclock your CPU, it is the motherboard and the CPU that matter.
If you have a factory built machine then your answer is no, you cannot overclock it. Sometimes software overclocking may 'work' but is not very effective, does not bypass the dangers, and should be still avoided.
If you have a custom built machine then list ALL components that make up the system and we can advise you further. This does not guaranty that it will be possible or very effective but with this information, we can tell you more.
If there is no way to effectively or actually overclock there may still be options that you can do that will often make a difference in how well the computer works for your uses. For this list the exact make and model (or component list) of the computer and how you plan on using it and we may have suggestions here as well. You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
Please post the make/model of your current motherboard & CPU. It would also help to list how much RAM, graphics card, & why you want to overclock or upgrade the CPU. If you're using integrated graphics or have too little RAM, you have other issues that need to be addressed before upgrading the CPU. message edited by riider
