I have a prescott-2M P4 3.0ghz HT and I want to overclock a bit. I use a sams broadcaster and while running a chat room my cpu is at 100%. I have an intel sharkey D915psy mobo and I run 1.75gb or PC3200 DDR SDRAM @ 200 mhz. running windows 7 ultimate x86. might you have any ideas? a new cpu is on the list a lil further down the road when i have the funds, lol.

DJ, start a new post for your question so you will get the proper attention.
Your MB spec's:

Your system is not worth investing much more on due to age and restrictions/limitations. Intel boards do not overclock as a rule, and not well when they can. You should address the 100% CPU usage while you are chatting though. Turn off programs from starting when windows starts (msconfig - Start tab), run Malwarebytes, uninstall programs you no longer use, and you should have stayed with Windows XP with Internet Explorer 6 or Firefox (IE 7 & 8 and Windows 7 use resources you do not have). Run your memory as dual channel (matched pairs) for best memory performance. Do a disk clean up weekly, schedule antivirus to run when you are not using the computer typically, and a defrag monthly. The leaner your system is, the better it will run. You should have waited for Windows 7 until you upgraded your entire system to a modern multicore processor with appropriate components.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
