I assume that is a Q9650. I assume that by not including your board make and model, your memory make/model/speed/amount, your power supply make/model/wattage, Cooling method, current temperatures, and more information as well as what you expect out of your overclock, that you are not yet ready for overclocking.
Read, Read, Read. Google some more and Read, Read, and Read some more.

Do some more research and gather your system information, and try again.

Note that if you are running a stock mfg system (Hp, Dell, Gateway, etc.), or at least the original motherboard from one, you are out of luck, they are not overclockable.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.

You also didn't list the amount of RAM. If you have less than 4GB, you should consider adding more. Overclocking the CPU isn't going to accomplish much if the system is being choked off by too little memory.
