What can I do?,
I have been running windows 8 Pro Media Edition, 64bit on my Dell XPS 400 now for a long while, I thought about updating to 8.1 but it tells me this PC processor cannot run Windows 8.1 it says my processor doesn't support PrefetchW ?
I would need a 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster with support for PAE, NX, and SSE Which my processor is a Intel(R) D CPU 2.80GH

I have 4GB of Ram installed running a 64 bit windows 8 OS now with NO problems at all, is there anyway of working around this and if NOT can anyone tell me which Processor I could purchase and install to be able to run Windows 8.1 without purchasing a whole new computer? I mean I have two new DVD RW installed, a 1TB hard drive and everything seems to be running very fast and over all great, with this exception, I have already tried looking in the Bios as explained by microsoft to turn on the NX but there is no option so it prob doesn't support it, I will prob replace the computer someday but didn't want to go into that expense at this time and with it running really great for now!
Was just asking which processor that supportrs the above NX -PAE etc, would fit in my Dell board without going to a lot of other work or expense ? Any help will be greatly appreciated!!

Sorry, you are stuck with the Pentium D on your machine:
You would need to change out the motherboard, CPU, RAM, probably power supply..... In other words, you will need to buy or build a new machine. Had you went with Windows 7, you would still be fine (assuming drivers are available), but you will have to stay with what you have until you can replace it. There is little reason to spend that much money unless you start from scratch because any component you keep will become the limiting factor of the machine and bottleneck it.

You have to be a little bit crazy to keep you from going insane.
