64MB RAM is no where near enough RAM for XP & you should NOT touch the paging file settings.

You need at least 512MB for decent performance. If you don't want to add more RAM, get rid of XP & go back to Win98SE or WinME. A lightweight version of Linux is another possibility, if you're willing to take the time to learn how to use it? Try one of the Puppy Linux versions, like this one:

According to http://www.crucial.com

Memory Type: SDRAM, PC133, SDRAM (non-ECC)
Maximum Memory: 512MB
Slots: 2
Each memory slot can hold SDRAM, PC133 with a maximum of 256MB per slot.*
*Not to exceed manufacturer supported memory.

Is it worth £50.00, personally I would go back to Windows 98SE or try Puppy Linux, but it will not be great unless you stick MS-DOS on there...

"If i start using the win98,winME or puppy linux, will that make my system able to work faster?"

Definitely. I don't know if you or someone else dumped the original OS & replaced it with XP, but it never should have happened. Your system doesn't even meet the minimum requirements for XP so it's struggling with every single thing it does. I can only imagine how slow it must be.

Do you have a copy of Win98SE? Here's a couple other programs you might want to consider installing along with it:
