This one is an old 478 socket.....I think you won`t find Core 2 Duo for this motherboard.....

u won't find c2d in socket 478.If u are lucky u can find p4 with ht but the board has to support ht.Why upgrading cpu on that old system how much ram capacity u have?

If you want Core 2 Duo, buy I new board and I recommend 1 GB RAM minimum...

A Dell Optiplex GX 280 has an Intel Pentium 4 2.7 GHz. The socket is an LGA755. We use these all the time. They are slow computers. The processors where I use them at have SSE 1-3, HT, and, EMT-64.
