Solved Does my 8th gen motherboard support 9th gen intel processor?

Specs: Windows 10
So I have a Gigabyte MSI Z390-A PRO motherboard that supports 8th gen processors (currently has i7-8700 in it). and wanted to upgrade to the i7-9700k processor. Does my 8th gen motherboard support this change? or do I need to change to a new motherboard that supports 9th gen processors?

✔ Best Answer
yes it seems to be compatible:

Do note that the K series does not come with a cooler in the box & they use more power.

also you're switching from a 6core 12 thread to a 8core 8 thread, tho higher clocked. gaining about 20~25% overall performance.
