Specs: Windows XP
I have removed and cleaned the heat sink and fan ,but still get long bleep. do i need to use new paste for the heat sink?

Just in case your other post gets deleted, I'm repeating my response here:

One long continuous beep = Power supply, system board, or keyboard problem.

And YES, you MUST use thermal paste between the CPU & heatsink. The paste application is different depending on which type of CPU you have (AMD or Intel, single, dual or quad core), but generally, the amount of paste used is about the size of a grain of rice or BB. If you slobber it all over like frosting on a cake, it may prevent the system from booting or actually cause the CPU to overheat.
