August 31, 2010 at 12:28:18
Specs: Windows XP
Ok so im not asking how to overclock Dell Dimension 2400
ive read enough posts to know its not possible

However on startup the BIOS clearly states the Celeron CPU speed is 3.46Ghz and is running in normal mode NOT compatible mode
Running windows XP under system information it shows as 2.6Ghz
any ideas??

2600 100mhz FSB x26
so i guess either bios is a bit nuts or dell just use the same celeron chip and limit its speed like the evil ***** they are lol

i believe bios update won't help. I just check specs from dell website and the max cpu support is p4 3.06ghz 533fsb, for celeron cpu is 2.7ghz 400fsb.

Yeh checked Bios and its A05 which would seem to be the latest type
also checked service tag and it was sold as a 2.6ghz
still doesnt make sense that bios pulls it up as a 3.46Ghz celeron tho very odd
