dell branded cpu in asus?

Specs: Windows 7
can i use dell branded intel t9600 cpu in asus laptop or are there any restrictions like dell cpu must be used in dell laptop?

Normally, CPUs aren't designated by machine. So if you're certain it would work, then there's no reason it shouldn't. But many laptop/desktop CPUs aren't interchangeable due to size/heat issues.

i am sure that T9600 would fit into my asus n61vn - there is intel pm45 chipset which supports this type of cpu i also asked asus tech support and they told me that can be upgraded... i just found it on ebay, cpu taken out from dell machine, and i wanted to be sure that it will work:)

CPUs are made by AMD or Intel, not Asus, HP, Dell, etc. The CPU may fit in your motherboard, but if the CPU ID code isn't programed in the BIOS, it may not be properly recognized.
