CPU support list is here: http://www.gigabyte.com/support-dow...

Only these four Intel Core i7 CPUs are supported:

Intel Core i7-3770K 3.50GHz
Intel Core i7-3770 3.40GHz
Intel Core i7-3770S 3.10GHz
Intel Core i7-3770T 2.50GHz

Your CPU support list:

The ones listed above are only supported with BIOS version F9, there are also older i-7's that are supported by the earlier BIOS versions. If you plan on updating your BIOS to support the latest possible CPU, do it before trying to change out the CPU, read up on the procedure carefully, the risks, and seriously consider connecting the computer through a UPS (battery back up) to help prevent some of the possible problems that might cause you to loose use of the motherboard.

First find out what version of BIOS you have. Determine which CPU's you can use with your current BIOS and decide if you want to go with a CPU that will require a BIOS update. Update only if you need to because there is always a risk when updating your bios and that risk may leave you with a dead motherboard if certain things go wrong. Do the update before removing the old CPU since it will not allow the update with a non-supported CPU installed. If there is a suitable quad CPU it may pay to go with that one unless you really need or want the fastest/best available.
Your choice.
