What is model number of your X4? 840, 955, something else?

In the meantime, read some stuff...

...will do for a start.

Edit: OK, I see; it's a 945.

If you over-overclock, the system will either become unstable or unbootable, it will NOT "burn up". If you actually think you can burn out a system by overclocking, you don't know "just enough".

"If you actually think you can burn out a system by overclocking, you don't know "just enough".

That's not entirely true..

You can actually burn up your cpu if you crank the vcore setting up too high.

I can't fry one Cobra. Worst I've seen is a system lock up and had to clear BIOS.

I did get temp warnings in some instances but nothing I've done cooked the processor.

i've seen a lot of cpu's fry with the vcore pushed too far. matter of fact one of my friends just fried his 2600k because he pushed it to the brink even though he was told not to he did it anyhow and set his settings to 1.46 trying to push his 2600k to 5ghz and he ended up frying it, the cpu was dead. if you push it up far enough it can't fry your cpu. You can see a lot of examples of that just by googling the mistakes people have made when they set their vcore too high on their cpu's.
