my cpu brand name does not show up in my bios


CPU:Q8300

Motherboard : Abit IP35v

Ram:
Corsair Dominator Dual Channel 4096MB PC8500 DDR2 1066MHz

power supply:
ThermalTake / PurePower W0129RU / 600-Watt

Hard Drive:Western Digital 120gb

That motherboard supports Intel processors, so the CPU brand is Intel. What are you expecting to see? Do you want to know the CPU serial # or CPUID or something?

The Q8300 was released in Nov 08. The last BIOS update for the IP35v was released in March 08. There's no way it can be properly identified because the CPU info isn't programed into the BIOS.

In other words, the IP35v doesn't officially support the Q8300.
