Specs: Windows XP, Core Multiplexing Technology
Please Tell what Intel Core Multiplexing Technology does?

They say that Multi-Core Systems can act as a Single Powerful Core.

# What is the DIFFERENCE between Enabling and Disabling this feature from BIOS?

# What are the ADVANTAGES of Enabling or Disabling Core Multiplexing Technology ?
(What is the best for Gaming?)

my problem is they say enabling it makes my core 2 quad act as 2 powerful cores. BUT if it is enabled, XP task manager shows 4 cores.
If i disble it it shows only 2 cores! are those cores are more powerful?..
So to get 2 powerful cores instead of 4 normal cores, should i DISABLE CMT from BOIS !!??
Pls explain!

i did run some manual benchmark tests.
enabling CMT is better.

CMT enabled (4cores) - WinRAR- 2.27, Vir.DUB xvid 2.18
CMT disabled (2cores) - WinRAR- 2.58, Vir.DUB xvid 2.43
(time in seconds. lower the better, faster)

Well if your running a Q-Core than Id turn it on, What it does is Use the x64 architecture to better handle power or speed hungry application IE: Games photoshop things like that. Id recommend using it in games the framerates will go up. In english terms it takes all of the Textures and processes and orders them for best performance!
