Solved Coolermaster Hyper TX3 2nd fan?

June 29, 2011 at 11:23:33
Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate SP1 x86, Intel i5-760@2.80GHz
With the TX3 installed on my stock Intel i5-760 cpu, I mounted an Antec 92mm case fan on the other end of the cooler & powered it by my psu. Real Temp readings are as follows with 3.8% load: Temp=35/34/35/33; Min Temp=33/33/33/32; Max Temp=51/50/51/44. Are these temperatures acceptable? Is there any concern I should be aware of regarding this setup?

The extra fan probably wasn't necessary. The temps you posted are fine. What were they before you installed the 2nd fan?

You're right! The extra fan was a spare lying around that I was compelled to put in good use. As for the temps before I mounted the 2nd fan are preety much in that range with 1 or 2 degrees difference. Anyway, my concern is the setup of the 2nd fan having 3 pins which can only be powered by my 720W psu thru the 3-4 pin adapter connection. Is this connection acceptable? Is there any concern I should be worrying about? Any suggestion or recommendation is greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

There's no problem with what you did or how you wired it up, it just wasn't necessary.
