Why was the CPU removed in the 1st placed? Let me guess - you ripped it out of the socket when you tried to remove the heatsink. It's rarely necessary to remove heatsink/fan to clean it, unless it was really loaded with dirt/dust. Did you straighten the bent pin(s)? Did you separate the CPU from the heatsink, clean them both, then apply a fresh dab of thermal paste?
